A Major Milestone for Clean Transportation Collaborations
This month we’re celebrating the renewal of an exclusive clean school bus contract between Blue Bird Corporation, Ford Component Sales and ROUSH CleanTech. After over 12 years of collaboration, we’re thrilled to reaffirm that a successful, long-term partnership in the alternative fuel industry is more than possible — it’s preferred! While other manufacturers may focus on a narrow path to zero emissions, this renewed commitment is evidence that the only way we can accomplish our global vision for clean air is by working together.
From the very beginning, we’ve been rooted in collaborative work with industry leaders. ROUSH CleanTech launched its initial collaboration with Ford and the Propane Industry in 2009 for the launch of fuel system development for Ford F-150 trucks. In 2012, we extended the partnership and began working with Blue Bird to expand our reach to schools. Since then, more than 40,000 alternative-fuel-powered school buses have been deployed and more than $1 billion in savings over the life of the buses that could go back into the classroom along with millions of pounds of harmful pollutants like NOx and particulate matter have been reduced from the environment. The kindergartners who first rode to school on those Blue Bird propane buses back in 2012 will now be entering their senior year of high school!
For half a century, Roush Industries has impacted the automotive, military and specialty vehicle markets. We’re proud to have the backing of Roush’s collaborative spirit as we continue to help customers navigate the complex regulatory landscape, reduce emissions and drive down total ownership costs.
We look forward to achieving even more together with our trusted partners and invaluable customers.
