Propane Shines In the Midst of Global Fuel Instability
At ROUSH CleanTech, our work is grounded in trust, quality, innovation and American values. As our team talks with school districts, transit agencies and postal service contractors operating propane vehicles, we see more and more that, in the midst of rapidly changing global and domestic events, they can continue to depend on the real solution we’re providing through advanced propane engine technology.
Fueling with American-made propane autogas helps the nation’s energy security goals and reduces the nation’s dependence on imported energy sources. Unlike gasoline, diesel or lithium batteries, the U.S. is the source for the propane that we use every day. With propane, we’re avoiding shipping costs, market volatility and shifting trade flows.
With increasing instability in gasoline and diesel prices, propane remains a resilient and reliably affordable option. In fact, there’s a significant surplus of propane in the United States. We produce almost 30 billion gallons annually but only consume 10 billion so that will drive predictability and significant savings for fleets for years to come.
And propane is still a great option for schools looking for public incentives to help them make environmentally responsible changes. The proposed restructuring of the Clean School Bus Program for the 2026 cycle still allows for propane school buses to be included in diverse fleet portfolios that reduce emissions while making fiscal sense.
At the end of the day, the path with propane is proven, stable and reliable. It’s a safe, domestically produced fuel with a robust infrastructure and economic and environmental efficiencies. That is why more than 4,000 fleets across the United States rely on our propane engine technology every day to get the job done.
Stay safe and see you next month!
