Propane Can Strengthen U.S. Energy Security
Well, 2025 is off to quite a start regardless of which side of the aisle you are on.
The crude oil and natural gas tariffs and subsequent 30 day pause for Canada should drive us to look inward as a country and leverage the vast domestic energy resources at our fingertips.
Here’s a good place to start: Unlike gasoline, diesel or lithium batteries, our country is the source for the propane that we use. That’s why the team at ROUSH CleanTech has spent the past decade leveraging the many benefits propane autogas offers. So, instead of relying on others for energy or energy-related products, we can leverage this domestically produced energy to heat our homes, power our vehicles and move our goods.
More than 90% of our propane autogas supply is American made, and we’re the largest producer and exporter of propane in the world. That means that fueling with propane autogas helps our nation’s energy security goals and reduces our dependence on imported oil.
As a country we produce almost 30 billions of gallons of propane per year but we export almost 20 billion of that supply to other countries that know how valuable and versatile this fuel can be.
Thousands of U.S. school districts, transit agencies and commercial fleets rely on the robust, affordable propane infrastructure that’s already in place today. These fleets are able to lean into the security and financial stability that propane provides, regardless of shifting trade policies and regulations.

We are here to help.
Enjoy the Super Bowl and see you in March!
