Focus on What We Can Control

It was great seeing many of you last week at NTEA’s Work Truck Week in Indianapolis. I’m sure those who attended can agree that the keynote speech given by Coach K (Mike Krzyzewski) left quite a mark. With the NCAA’s March Madness around the corner, hearing from him felt more than appropriately timed.

His talk, while focused on basketball and the many stars (and egos) he had the chance to coach and mentor, had many connections to what we experience every day in the world of transportation.

The message and his pillars’ directly correlated to how our industry needs to approach the unprecedented times we are facing.

  1. Agility
  2. Adaptability
  3. Accountability
  4. Attitude

As an industry we need to be agile, willing to adapt, hold each other accountable and do it with a positive attitude.

As a sentiment of uncertainty about what the next step in transportation and alternative fuels will be, the team at ROUSH CleanTech will remain focused on our controllables: ultra-low emissions with American-made fuel; strong partnerships with OEMs like Blue Bird and Ford; a robust and reliable infrastructure; and a community that feels like extended family.

It may feel like the madness extends beyond the basketball court, but I encourage you to remember to focus on what you can control and influence those around you with a “can do” spirit.

Enjoy the Start of Spring and hope there are a few perfect NCAA brackets among us!

Here’s what I’m reading this month:
