The Solution to Energy Sticker Shock
Dear Friends of ROUSH CleanTech,
As summer arrives, rising prices at the pump always seem to follow. Fluctuations in the cost of gas and diesel don’t just bite into our road trip plans, they make the United States feel vulnerable to forces that seem completely beyond our control.
But don’t worry, our country enjoys many advantages that should help us rest assured that the future is bright. Peter Zeihan, geopolitical strategist and author of The Accidental Superpower, cites these reasons for optimism, as well as others:
- The U.S. represents the largest consumer market at $12 trillion dollars. The rest of the world market combined is $13 trillion.
- Our interconnected waterways allow us to move goods inexpensively and easily. The U.S. has 15,000 miles of waterways in one system: The rest of the world has only 13,000 miles, combined.
- As a country bounded by two oceans, our military doesn’t need to be constantly defending borders.
With these advantages, we can leverage our nation’s abundant supply of propane and natural gas and our ability to distribute it. Using these fuels in our vehicles, instead of relying on gasoline and diesel, would allow us to domestically produce more of the energy we need — and reduce concerns about foreign sources of oil and geopolitical instability.
We have the solution to energy sticker shock: Let us know when you’re ready to take control of fuel prices for your fleet by choosing alternative fuels for your commercial vehicles and Blue Bird school buses. Call us today at 800.59.ROUSH.
Sincerely,
Todd Mouw
