Some DHL Vans to Use Liquid Propane
Sun Sentinel
Delivery giant DHL Express is switching to liquid propane gas to power some of its South Florida fleet, part of a broader effort to find cleaner and cheaper alternatives to gasoline as gas prices rise.
Propane costs about $2 per gallon today, compared to roughly $3.50 per gallon for gasoline, experts say. DHL bought 100 Ford E-250 cargo vans, equipped with ROUSH CleanTech liquid propane fuel systems, to serve parts of Florida, California, Texas, Georgia and Missouri starting in August.
