School Bus Company Converting Entire Fleet to Propane

When it comes to green, efficient school buses, the metro’s fleet has some bragging rights. Student Transportation of America said it has the biggest fleet of propane buses in the world, and they’re not done yet.
“I run 444 propane buses, and I have 91 diesel,” said Brian Urwin, who manages maintenance for Student Transportation of America. “Our goal for the future is to get rid of all the diesel we have, convert over to 100 percent propane.” Urwin said it’s worth it because you can buy 2.5 gallons of propane for every gallon of diesel. It’s cost-effective and cleaner.
