Jack Roush Honored at NPGA SE Expo
We just wrapped up an exciting, informative and action-packed weekend at the National Propane Gas Association’s 2024 Southeastern Convention & International Propane Expo in Charlotte, North Carolina. There’s lots to share with you!
The Roush Enterprises family was touched to witness Jack Roush be recognized for his contributions to the propane industry. In addition to his work at Ford Motors and Roush Enterprises, Jack won over 400 national racing events and more than 30 championships. Jack’s impressive lifetime career in the automotive and motorsports industries continues to inspire and invigorate our commitment to our customers.
Susan Roush-McClenaghan, Jack’s daughter and six-time national drag race championship winner, accepted the award on his behalf. Susan’s racing career includes wins in a propane-powered race car, which we showcased in the exhibit hall.
That’s right! Propane fuel systems aren’t only in school buses and commercial trucks. They’re also in champion high-performance drag cars. Susan uses propane because it’s clean, domestically produced and has such a high octane rating that there’s only a four-horsepower difference between propane and C14 (race fuel). She can reach 150 mph in just 9.19 seconds.
Finally, here are some of the themes we heard during the largest propane industry show of the year:
- School districts offer a great opportunity for propane marketers to sell autogas
- Off-road port vehicles is a new growing segment for propane
- Hybrid uses of propane are a great option as regulations continue to tighten
I hope to see many of you out in Vegas at the ACT Expo. We’ll be in booth #2425 — please stop by to say hello.
Here’s what I’m reading this month:
- Propane Autogas Can Eliminate Refueling Woes
- The Possibilities of Renewable Propane
- Working Toward a Collaborative Clean Energy Future
