Domestic Energy for Our Transportation Needs

Dear Friends of ROUSH CleanTech,
Todd Mouw, VP of sales and marketing, ROUSH CleanTech

Last month’s Boston Marathon reminded me that, much like this competition, our race toward energy independence is a marathon and not a sprint.

We just returned from California and our sixth time exhibiting at ACT Expo. Each year, the attendees are more familiar with propane autogas as an engine fuel. As a matter of fact, we let a couple of our best customers tell their story this year — Bimbo Bakeries and Florida’s Pasco School District. Pasco has already saved over $140,000 in the past two years with their alternative fuel school buses.

Yet, there was still a lot of talk about where transportation is headed and fuels / technologies that might be available down the road — instead of seeing what’s right in front of us. As a nation, our heritage is one of innovation and challenging the status quo. But I would argue rather than looking for the next best thing, we should utilize the energy resources that are readily available and “shovel ready” while the others continue to incubate. Propane autogas is a resource with nearly 12 billion gallons available to fuel vehicles today.

Our school districts and commercial fleets need emissions-reducing, cost-cutting, domestically produced solutions like propane autogas to make an impact on their bottom line today and not 20 years from now.

As a part of this marathon, we’ll continue to keep you updated on the progress of the Volkswagen settlement. The funds from this settlement will make a huge impact on our economy and environment over the next decade.

We look forward to talking to you at 800.59.ROUSH to assist you in this transition.

Have a great month and enjoy the upcoming Memorial Day holiday.

Sincerely,

Todd Mouw
