CNG is Environmentally Friendly
Vehicles powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) are proven to significantly improve the air quality by emitting fewer greenhouse gases, smog-producing hydrocarbons and particulate emissions than any gasoline-fueled or diesel-fueled heavy-duty vehicle.
When compared with diesel, vehicles fueled by compressed natural gas produce:
- Up to 17% less greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions
- 95% less Nitrogen Oxide (NOX) emissions
- 80% less Hydrocarbon emissions
Natural gas is the lowest carbon fuel available today and poses no harm to groundwater, surface water, or soil. Its simple molecular structure makes complete combustion easy and results in less tailpipe emissions.
