Mass Transit
Three propane-powered buses join Cherokee County’s Cherokee Area Transportation Services (CATS) fixed-route fleet. The new propane buses replaced aging vehicles. The purchase was funded using federal grants and funds from the Special Purpose Local Options Sales Tax. “With the purchase, we were able to secure increased federal transportation support and a Federal Transit Authority fuel subsidy, saving our taxpayers money,” said Community Services Agency director Bryan Reynolds.
