CLEARWATER – Pinellas County schools are among four Tampa Bay area school districts that have switched their buses to propane autogas.
Student Transportation of America Inc., a subsidiary of Student Transportation Inc., will provide 49 buses for the next school year to the Canby School District near Portland, Ore. Forty-two of those buses will run on propane autogas.

On the outside, they are the same big yellow school buses, but their fuel is different. More than 170 buses in Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco and Polk counties run on propane.
