New Roush Cleantech Electric Truck Achieves Key California Incentive

Ford F-650 battery electric truck has achieved the prestigious California Hybrid and Zero-emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP) eligibility listing. The California Air Resources Board (CARB), in partnership with CALSTART, launched the California HVIP vehicle purchase incentive program in 2009 to accelerate the acquisition of cleaner, more efficient trucks and buses in the state. HVIP provides point-of-sale discount vouchers that reduce the buying cost of vehicles operated in California.

This spring, long-time school bus builder Blue Bird will begin production of its propane and gasoline Vision school buses integrating the all-new Ford 7.3L Godzilla V8 engine and a purpose-built fuel system designed specifically for school bus applications. The advanced fuel system technology was developed by Roush CleanTech, the same company that has manufactured over 30,000 propane and gasoline fuel systems for Blue Bird buses equipped with the Ford 6.8L Triton engine.

Year-End Legislation Proves Beneficial for Propane

The propane industry claimed several victories in major year-end COVID-19 relief and appropriations legislation signed into law Dec. 27, 2020. H.R. 133, an omnibus package, contained appropriations funding for research and development projects through the Department of Energy (DOE), an extension of alternative fuel tax credits, COVID-19 relief for small businesses and other broad energy provisions, according to the National Propane Gas Association (NPGA).
