Blue Bird visited ROUSH CleanTech headquarters in Livonia, Mich., to observe how safety and quality are produced in every propane autogas fuel system.
Following the 1970s energy crisis, Alvin Independent School District (ISD), Texas, began researching alternative fuel options. A decade later, as fuel access and pricing began hindering the district’s transportation department, the district turned to propane autogas to power its school bus fleet.
Once bus engines meant diesel power. Alternative fuels were considered impractical and expensive. But that is changing dramatically. Alternatively-fueled vehicles account for more than 40 percent of current U.S. public transit fleets, and 59.7 percent of current U.S. public transit fleets, and 59.7 percent of new buses operate with alternative fuels… (Passenger Transport)
Blue Bird Corp., a manufacturer of school buses, recently bestowed propane autogas technology specialist ROUSH CleanTech with its 2013 Supplier of the Year award. Michigan-based ROUSH CleanTech supplies Blue Bird with propane autogas fuel systems and tanks for its propane-powered Vision and Micro Bird G5 buses… (NGT News)
