We Take Safety Seriously
Dear Partners of ROUSH CleanTech,
There is a common misperception about alternative fueled vehicles: they don’t perform as well and aren’t as safe to use as conventional fuels, like gasoline and diesel. This statement couldn’t be more wrong. When it comes to our propane autogas fuel technology, we take safety with unparalleled performance seriously.
Let’s review our “Propane Autogas Safety Features.” It outlines the safety features ROUSH CleanTech puts into each and every propane autogas fuel system we design and manufacture. You can also read more about the safe use of propane autogas on our website.
For instance, did you know:
- ROUSH CleanTech has tested propane tanks to over 1,300 psi without failure. This is more than four times the maximum working pressure.
- Our tank mounting system is designed to rigorous internal mounting standards. The tank will not become dislodged in 20g front crash, 8g side / rear — which is double the requirement specified by the National Fire Protection Association.
- Propane will not ignite when combined with air unless the source of ignition reaches at least 940 degrees Fahrenheit. In contrast, gasoline will ignite when the source of ignition reaches only 430 to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Propane autogas vehicle fuel tanks are 20 times more puncture-resistant than typical gasoline or diesel tanks.
All ROUSH CleanTech fuel systems meet Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and California Air Resources Board (CARB) certifications, in addition to complying with or exceeding NHTSA and FMVSS standards and regulations.
When partnering with an alternative fuel vehicle provider, make sure to take safety measures and testing into consideration. If a company’s system doesn’t undergo the rigorous testing and follow high safety standards like our fuel systems do, maybe you should rethink your relationship.
Thanks for partnering with ROUSH CleanTech, a company that clearly demonstrates our commitment to performance and safety.
Sincerely,
Todd Mouw
